Procyanidin B2 is a proanthocyanidin consisting of two molecules of (−)-epicatechin joined by a bond between positions 4 and 8′ in a beta-configuration. It is a type of flavonoid compound that belongs to the class of condensed tannins. It is part of a larger group of compounds known as procyanidins, which are widely distributed in various plants, particularly in fruits, vegetables, and certain medicinal plants. It is known to scavenge free radicals and protect cells against oxidative damage.
