PRKCDBP Antibody (8D3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the PRKCDBP protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PRKCDBP antibody (8D3) is available as the non-conjugated format. PRKCDBP protein, also known as protein kinase C, delta binding protein, SRBC, HSRBC, or cavin-3, consists of 261 amino acids and belongs to the STICK (substrates that interact with C-kinase) superfamily of PKC-binding proteins, exhibiting strong expression in mammary and epithelial cells. PRKCDBP plays a crucial role in cellular signaling by interacting with PRKCD and phosphatidylserine, which enhances the stability of binding between protein kinase C and its binding partners, thereby facilitating important signaling pathways. Notably, PRKCDBP is recognized as a novel tumor suppressor, as PRKCDBP is down-regulated in various cancer cell lines, including those from breast and lung cancers, and PRKCDBP function can be compromised through methylation. Additionally, PRKCDBP may contribute to immune potentiation and act as a caveolin adapter, regulating caveolae function, which is vital for cellular communication and transport. PRKCDBP phosphorylation is stimulated by NK-1R (neurokinin 1 receptor), a G protein-coupled receptor implicated in human glioblastomas, further underscoring PRKCDBP significance in cancer biology and potential therapeutic targets.
