PRC Antibody (B-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PRC protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PRC Antibody (B-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The PGC-1-related coactivator (PRC), also known as peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma coactivator-related protein 1, is a crucial 1,664 amino acid nuclear protein that plays a significant role in the coactivation of nuclear genes involved in mitochondrial biogenesis and cell growth. PRC functions as a transcriptional coactivator for CREB-1 and NRF-1, directly interacting with these transcription factors to regulate gene expression. PRC is up-regulated by serum and is predominantly expressed in skeletal muscle and heart tissues, with moderate expression levels found in the kidney, spleen, thymus, intestine, placenta, lung, brain, and colon. PRC contains one RNA recognition motif (RRM) domain, which facilitates RNA binding, highlighting a potential role in post-transcriptional regulation. PRC exists in two isoforms generated through alternative splicing, which may contribute to functional diversity in various cellular contexts.
