POMZP3 Antibody (YY-47) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects POMZP3 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-POMZP3 antibody (YY-47) is available as a non-conjugated monoclonal isotype antibody. POMZP3, a 210 amino acid fusion protein, is expressed in various human tissues, including the colon, spleen, testis, thymus, ovary, lymphocytes, pancreas, and small intestine. POMZP3 is encoded by a gene resulting from the fusion of duplicated POM121 and ZP3 DNA sequences, with the 5′ end sharing 77% identity with POM121 and the 3′ end sharing 99% identity with ZP3. POMZP3′s structure is particularly significant as POMZP3 combines elements from both POM121, an integral nuclear pore membrane protein that contributes to the permeability of the nuclear pore complex, and ZP3, which serves as a sperm receptor ligand in the zona pellucida, playing a crucial role in fertilization. Unlike POM121, POMZP3 lacks the nuclear pore localization motif, suggesting POMZP3 does not associate with the nuclear pore complex, which may influence POMZP3′s functional role in reproductive biology. ZP3′s interaction with sperm triggers the acrosome reaction, enabling sperm to penetrate the zona pellucida, thus highlighting POMZP3′s importance in reproductive processes.
