    SEE ALSO...

Polyoma virus VP1 Antibody (3D10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects the major capsid protein VP1 of hamster Polyomavirus by western blotting (WB), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). Anti-Polyoma virus VP1 antibody (3D10) is available in a non-conjugated form, providing researchers with a versatile tool for studying the role of VP1 protein in viral pathogenesis. VP1 protein constitutes approximately 75% of the total capsid shell protein, forming a protective layer around the viral genome. This structural significance is vital for stability and infectivity, as capsid integrity is essential for virus entry into host cells and infection initiation. VP1 interaction with cellular proteins such as retinoblastoma protein and p53 contributes to tumor-inducing properties of JC virus, particularly in immunocompromised individuals, where infection can lead to severe neurological conditions like progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML). Understanding VP1 function and structure is important for developing therapeutic strategies against diseases associated with Polyoma viruses.
