Polyoma virus large T antigen Antibody (PyLT) is a rat monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects the Polyoma virus large T antigen of Polyoma Virus origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-Polyoma virus large T antigen antibody (PyLT) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The Polyoma virus is a small oncogenic DNA virus belonging to the family Polymaviridae, known for inducing multiple tumors in infected hosts. The large T antigen plays a crucial role in the viral life cycle as a nuclear phosphoprotein that regulates viral replication and gene expression while facilitating the isolation of viral T antigens. Polyoma virus large T antigen can induce cellular DNA replication independently of other virus-transforming genes, highlighting significance in the transformation process. The large T antigen interacts with several cellular proteins, including the retinoblastoma protein (Rb) and p53, which are critical regulators of the cell cycle and apoptosis. By binding to these proteins, the large T antigen disrupts normal functions, leading to uncontrolled cell proliferation and contributing to the oncogenic potential of the virus. Polyoma virus large T antigen monoclonal antibody (PyLT) serves as an essential tool for researchers studying viral oncogenesis and the molecular mechanisms underlying tumor development.

I am using Polyoma virus large T antigen (PyLT): sc-53479 for immunofluorescence, what dilution of this antibody should I use?

Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your question. We recommend a starting dilution of 1:50. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration. Please find our full immunofluorescence protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great antibody! This antibody works reliably across many different buffer and incubation conditions. I also appreciate the conjugation to AlexaFluor 488, which saves time and money.
