Polyoma virus early Antibody (PyC) is a rat monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects the Polyoma virus early protein of Polyoma Virus origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-Polyoma virus early antibody (PyC) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatility for different experimental needs. The Polyoma virus is a small oncogenic DNA virus belonging to the family Polymaviridae, known for inducing multiple tumors in infected hosts. Among early proteins, the large T antigen plays a crucial role in regulating viral replication and gene expression, vital for viral life cycle and host cell transformation. The large T antigen is a nuclear phosphoprotein that facilitates viral T antigen isolation and induces cellular DNA replication independently of other virus-transforming genes, highlighting importance in both viral pathogenesis and potential therapeutic targets. The middle T antigen, another key player, is responsible for cell transformation and essential for viral oncogenic potential, while the small T antigen contributes to both transformation and productive infection. This multifaceted role of early proteins underscores the significance of Polyoma virus early (PyC) monoclonal antibody in research focused on viral oncogenesis and cellular transformation mechanisms.
