PluriSln 1 is an inhibitor of stearoyl-CoA desaturase 1 (SCD1). It is useful for eliminating undifferentiated human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs) from culture by selectively inducing apoptosis in these cells. Additionally, pluriSln 1 induces endoplasmic reticulum stress, reduces protein synthesis, and prevents teratoma formation in immunocompromised mice models.
