PLGLB2 Antibody (62.P) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PLGLB2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PLGLB2 antibody (62.P) is available as a non-conjugated format. PLGLB2 protein, also known as plasminogen-like B2 or PLGP1, is a 96 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in the fibrinolytic system, particularly in blood clot dissolution regulation. PLGLB2 resembles the N-terminal plasminogen activation peptide, which releases during plasminogen conversion to plasmin, the active enzyme responsible for breaking down fibrin in blood clots. PLGLB2′s unique structure allows potential binding to lysine binding sites in plasminogen kringle domains, which may interfere with fibrin or α-2 antiplasmin binding, thereby influencing proteolytic activity localization at sites critical for extracellular matrix remodeling. This function maintains proper tissue homeostasis and prevents excessive fibrosis or scarring, making PLGLB2 an important target for research in cardiovascular diseases and other conditions related to abnormal clotting and tissue repair.
