PKR Antibody (FJ-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects PKR in human samples through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PKR, an interferon-inducible, RNA-dependent protein serine/threonine kinase, plays a crucial role in cellular response to viral infections by phosphorylating the α subunit of protein synthesis initiation factor eIF-2. This phosphorylation event on serine-51 leads to translation inhibition, effectively halting viral replication and allowing host cells to mount an immune response.
