Pitavastatin Calcium is a competitive inhibitor of the enzyme HMGCR (HMG-CoA reductase) results in a reduction in LDL cholesterol synthesis. Alternate studies show that pitavastatin can suppress oxygen production in endothelial cells by inhibiting Nox (NADPH oxidase). In addition, pitavastatin reduces the expression of eNOS mRNA while increasing the NO dependent response stimulated by acetylcholine and the calcium ionophore, A23187 (sc-3591). Furthermore, pitavastatin inhibits the up-regulation of conductance calcium-activated potassium channels by lowering cholesterol levels in cells.

Could I ask how long could the Pitavastatin calcium powder keep stable in room temperature, Last time we bought a lot, and keep some of the power in -20 degree for several years, do you think it still works well? and how to store DMSO solution, thanks

Asked by: zhihua
Thank you for your question. It is okay to store sc-208176 at -20ºC. Storing at -20ºC may prolong the shelf life. It is recommended to retest the chemical before use after 1 year. It is also recommended to use solutions the same day they are made. If solutions need to be stored, we recommend to aliquot and freeze it. If stored in this way, solutions should be used within one month and multiple freeze/thaw cycles should be avoided.
