Pirh2 Antibody (D-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Pirh2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Pirh2 (D-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Pirh2, also known as Androgen receptor N-terminal-interacting protein (ARNIP), ZN363, or CHIMP, plays a critical role in regulating the p53 tumor suppressor pathway through ubiquitin-protein ligase activity, which promotes p53 degradation. This interaction is significant because p53 is a key regulator of cell cycle and apoptosis, and loss of function is associated with various malignancies. The gene encoding Pirh2 is located on chromosome 4q21.1, and expression is tightly regulated by p53 itself, creating a feedback loop that maintains cellular homeostasis. Notably, increased levels of Pirh2 lead to decreased p53, while reduced Pirh2 expression results in elevated p53 levels, highlighting Pirh2′s role as a negative regulator of p53 function alongside MDM2. This intricate balance underscores Pirh2′s importance in cancer biology and potential as a therapeutic target.
