Pim-3 Antibody (4A9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects the Pim-3 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Pim-3 antibody (4A9) is available as a non-conjugated format. Pim-3, a member of the proto-oncogene Pim family, plays a crucial role in various cellular processes, including cell cycle progression and apoptosis regulation. Pim-3 functions as a serine/threonine kinase that shares significant homology with Pim-1, and Pim-3 expression is particularly important in synaptic plasticity in the brain, where Pim-3 may mediate the strengthening of synapses, a process vital for learning and memory. Pim-3 participates in anti-apoptotic signaling pathways in hematopoietic progenitor cells, which is essential for maintaining cell survival and function. Pim-3 shows widespread expression in various tissues but remains notably absent in the colon, thymus, and small intestine, indicating a specific regulatory role in other cell types. Increased levels of Pim kinases, including Pim-3, have been associated with lymphomagenesis, highlighting Pim-3′s significance in cancer biology.
