SEE ALSO...

PIAS 1/3 Antibody (F-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PIAS 1/3 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PIAS 1/3 (F-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PIAS 1/3 proteins play a crucial role in regulating signal transduction pathways mediated by the IL-6-type family of cytokines, which are essential for gene activation, cell proliferation, and differentiation. Specifically, PIAS 1 acts as a negative regulator of signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT) proteins, particularly Stat1 and Stat3, by binding to them and inhibiting their DNA-binding activity, thereby preventing target gene transcription. This interaction helps maintain cellular homeostasis and prevents excessive inflammatory responses, which can lead to various diseases. Additionally, PIAS 1/3 proteins are involved in post-translational modifications, such as SUMOylation, which further modulates target protein activity and stability, highlighting their importance in cellular signaling and function.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-271172 P appropriate for?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
