Philanthotoxin 74 is a subtype-selective AMPA receptor antagonist that inhibits GluR1/2 but not GluR2/3 receptors. AMPA is a transmembrane glutamate receptor composed of the subunits GluR-1,2,3,4. Philanthotoxin 74 is an inhibitor of GluR-1 and GluR-3.
