PGF2α (Prostaglandin F2α) is a major uterine luteolytic prostaglandin, that is an endogenous agonist of PGF2Rα (FP receptor KD=1.0 nM). This product may act to inhibit differentiation of mouse 3T3-L1 preadipocytes, promote neutrophil chemotaxis via the chemokine CXCL1 in endometrial adenocarcinoma cells, stimulate COX2 mRNA expression and thereby PGF2α (Prostaglandin F2α) synthesis through NF-κB activation via reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the corpus luteum of pseudopregnant rats, and regulate adrenal endocrine function. PGF2α (Prostaglandin F2α) is synthesized from PGE2 (sc-201225), both of which are synthesized from the same precursor, PGH2 (sc-201266). The diverse activity displayed by PGF2α (Prostaglandin F2α), other prostaglandins, and analogous molecules, makes this product an extremely useful research tool.
