Perlecan Antibody (A7L6) is a rat monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects perlecan in mouse, rat, human, porcine, bovine, monkey, and fish samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-perlecan antibody (A7L6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Perlecan, a member of the heparan sulfate proteoglycan family, plays a crucial role in the extracellular matrix, where perlecan is involved in modulating the activities of growth factors that influence cell growth and differentiation. Perlecan′s unique structure, consisting of five distinct domains, allows interactions with various matrix molecules, cytokines, and growth factors, which is essential for cartilage development and the proper functioning of neuromuscular junctions. Perlecan′s interactions with antithrombin and TGFβ1 highlight a regulatory role in blood coagulation and cellular signaling, respectively, suggesting that understanding these interactions could lead to novel therapeutic strategies for cancer and other diseases.

I would like to use Perlecan (A7L6): sc-33707 for double staining with another mouse monoclonal primary antibody. Is this possible?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. In cases like this, we recommend using our directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibodies. Currently, sc-33707 is not available directly conjugated, but we have an alternative Perlecan antibody (sc-377219) that is available conjugated to HRP, FITC, PE, Alexa Fluor® 488 and Alexa Fluor® 647. If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact our Technical Service department by calling 800-457-3801 option 2, emailing scbt@scbt.com, or using the Live Chat function on our website.
