Perhexiline-d11 Maleate(Mixture of Diastereomers) is a labeled calcium blocking agent which acts as a vasodilator. Studies indicate that Perhexiline-d11 Maleate(Mixture of Diastereomers) inhibits carnitine palmitoyltransferase which decreases fatty acid metabolism. Perhexiline-d11 Maleate(Mixture of Diastereomers) is an amphiphilic molecule, which contains a planar maleate group that is hydrogen bonded to perhexiline. Studies suggest that the biological targets of this molecule have an equivalent group containing two oxygens which are separated by 4.49 α. Perhexiline-d11 Maleate(Mixture of Diastereomers) can be metabolized into monohydroxy or dihydroxy forms. Biochemically Perhexiline-d11 Maleate(Mixture of Diastereomers) inhibits potassium channels such as HERG and Kv1.5 and act as an antagonist towards L-Type Ca2+ channels. Furthermore, potentiation of platelets in response to nitric oxide is also controlled by Perhexiline-d11 Maleate(Mixture of Diastereomers).
