It achieves this by binding to the enzyme transpeptidase, which plays a role in peptidoglycan formation—an essential component of the bacterial cell wall. Through this interaction, Penicillin V Potassium hinders the enzyme′s function, preventing the creation of new peptidoglycan. Consequently, bacterial cells are unable to sustain their cell walls, leading to their demise.
