PDPK1 Antibody (5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 light chain antibody that detects PDPK1 in mouse, rat, human, and canine samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). PDPK1, also known as 3-phosphoinositide dependent protein kinase 1, is a crucial 556 amino acid protein that is ubiquitously expressed and localizes to the cell membrane, cytoplasm, and nucleus. As a master kinase, PDPK1 plays a vital role in phosphorylating and activating a subgroup of the AGC family of protein kinases, which are essential for mediating signal transduction pathways that control cell proliferation, survival, and growth, particularly in developing pancreatic beta cells. Additionally, PDPK1 is involved in regulating calcium uptake and calcium-activated potassium channels in mast cells, influencing chemotaxis and motility in vascular endothelial cells, maintaining cardiac homeostasis, and supporting thymocyte development. PDPK1′s structure includes a PH domain that is critical for homodimerization, localization, and nuclear import, alongside a protein kinase domain that facilitates enzymatic activity. PDPK1 exists in five alternatively spliced isoforms and is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 16p13.3, highlighting its complexity and importance in various cellular processes.
