PCYOX1 Antibody (25) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PCYOX1 protein of mouse, rat, human, and canine origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Anti-PCYOX1 antibody (25) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose and horseradish peroxidase (HRP). PCYOX1 protein, also known as prenylcysteine lyase or PCL1, is a 505 amino acid FAD-dependent thioether oxidase that plays a crucial role in the metabolism of prenylated proteins. Specifically, PCYOX1 catalyzes the degradation of prenylcysteine into free cysteines and a hydrophobic isoprenoid, a process vital for cellular homeostasis and the recycling of cysteine, an important amino acid involved in various metabolic pathways. PCYOX1 is ubiquitously expressed and particularly significant in atherogenesis, where PCYOX1 may function as a very low-density lipoprotein-associated protein. Additionally, PCYOX1 is glycosylated at multiple N-glycosylation sites, which can influence stability and activity, and is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 2p14. PCYOX1′s ability to specifically cleave the thioether bond of prenyl-L-cysteines, such as farnesylcysteine and geranylgeranylcysteine, underscores PCYOX1′s importance in regulating the turnover of these modified proteins, thereby impacting various signaling pathways and cellular functions.

Are there any issues with using sc-136391: PCYOX1 (25) mouse monoclonal primary antibody on mouse samples?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent,we recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody. Please contact our special orders department for pricing and availability of sc-136391 conjugates.
