PCDH1 Antibody (B-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PCDH1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PCDH1 (B-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Protocadherins, the family to which PCDH1 belongs, are crucial for calcium-dependent cell-to-cell adhesion, facilitating homophilic interactions that are essential for maintaining tissue architecture and function. PCDH1, also known as PC42 or PCDH42, is a 1,026 amino acid single-pass type I membrane protein characterized by seven cadherin domains. PCDH1 is predominantly localized at cell-cell and cell-matrix boundaries, with high expression levels in brain and neuro-glial cells, indicating a significant role in neuronal development and synapse formation. PCDH1′s structure, featuring a C-terminal cytoplasmic region, an extracellular region, and a transmembrane region, is vital for mediating cell adhesion and interactions. Notably, PCDH1 exists in two isoforms due to alternative splicing, which may contribute to diverse functional roles in the nervous system.
