p87PIKAP Antibody (1G16) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects p87PIKAP protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-p87PIKAP antibody (1G16) is available as the non-conjugated format. p87PIKAP protein, also known as PIK3R6 (phosphoinositide-3-kinase, regulatory subunit 6), p84, or HsT41028, is a 754 amino acid cytoplasmic protein that plays a crucial role as a regulatory subunit of the PI 3-kinase p110γ complex, which is essential for various cellular processes, including cell growth, proliferation, and survival. p87PIKAP is predominantly expressed in heart tissue, dendritic cells, macrophages, and neutrophils, where p87PIKAP drives the activation of PI 3-kinase p110γ and interacts with phosphodiesterase 3B (PDE3B), facilitating a scaffolding interaction that is vital for signaling pathways involved in immune responses and metabolic regulation. The gene encoding p87PIKAP is located on human chromosome 17, a region that is significant not only for its size, comprising over 2.5% of the human genome and encoding more than 1,200 genes, but also for its association with key tumor suppressor genes such as p53 and BRCA1, which are critical for maintaining cellular genetic integrity and are implicated in various cancers.
