p53 Activator II is a cell-permeable and proteolytically stable p53-activating peptide that displays antitumor properties. Activates p53-dependent gene transcription and inhibits tumor cell proliferation in a p53-dependent manner, while exhibiting no effect on the proliferation of normal cells expressing wild-type p53. The functional half-life of this peptide has been estimated to be greater than 7 days in murine TA3/St mammary carcinoma cells.
