p400 Antibody (2A7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects p400 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-p400 antibody (2A7) is a monoclonal isotype antibody available as a non-conjugated format. p400 protein, also known as EP400 (E1A binding protein p400) or mDomino, plays a pivotal role in the NuAR (nucleosome acetyltransferase) complex, which is essential for the acetylation of nucleosomal histones H4 and H2A, thereby facilitating the transcription of specific target genes. Located primarily in the nucleus, p400 is expressed in various human tissues, including the brain, liver, thymus, lung, spleen, colon, and kidney, where p400 regulates the transcriptional activity of proteins such as MZF-1 and contributes to the ATPase and helicase functions of the NuA4 complex. Notably, p400 interacts with the adenovirus oncoprotein E1A, enhancing pro-apoptotic activity, which underscores p400′s significance in regulating both transcriptional and apoptotic pathways. The ability of p400 to influence these critical cellular processes suggests that the NuAR complex may play a vital role in cell proliferation, transformation, and potentially carcinogenesis. Additionally, p400 exists in five isoforms due to alternative splicing, which may further diversify functional roles in cellular regulation.
