P23 Antibody (JJ12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects P23 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). P23, also known as PTGES3 or TEBP, is a crucial cochaperone that is widely expressed and plays a significant role in signal transduction. P23 is part of the HSP 90-based molecular chaperone complex, where P23 facilitates the disassembly of transcriptional regulatory complexes, thereby influencing receptor-mediated transcriptional activation. P23 is involved in the hormone-dependent chaperoning of estrogen receptor alpha (ERα), which is essential for the maturation of this steroid receptor and the regulation of genes associated with ERα. The localization of P23 in the cytoplasm is vital, as P23 allows for interaction with the glucocorticoid receptor (GR), where P23 is believed to inhibit GR-dependent transcription by disrupting the transcription machinery. P23′s role in various steroid receptor-mediated pathways underscores P23′s importance in cellular signaling and the regulation of diverse biological processes. The upregulation of P23 has been linked to the invasion and metastasis of several cancers, highlighting P23′s potential as a biomarker and therapeutic target in oncology.
