p150 Antibody (F-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects p150 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-p150 antibody (F-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. p150 plays a crucial role in cellular sorting and delivery of proteins to appropriate organelles, which is vital for maintaining normal cellular function. Specifically, p150 is the human homolog of yeast Vps15p protein, which is integral to the protein trafficking system that transports vacuolar proteins from the Golgi network to the vacuole, where proteins undergo essential post-translational modifications. The interaction between p150 and Vps34p, a key component of this system, is particularly important as Vps15p enhances Vps34p′s kinase activity and recruits Vps34p to the Golgi membrane. Additionally, p150 undergoes post-translational modifications, including myristoylation, which can influence localization and function within the cell, making p150 a critical player in protein sorting and a significant target for research into cellular processes and potential therapeutic interventions.
