p-PRC1 Antibody (C-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects p-PRC1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). p-PRC1 (C-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PRC1, also known as Protein Regulator Of Cytokinesis 1, plays a crucial role in regulating cytokinesis, specifically during late stages of cell division. PRC1 localizes to mitotic spindle midzones during anaphase and is essential for cell midbody formation, critical for successful cellular cleavage. Phosphorylation of PRC1 by cyclin-dependent kinases (Cdks) such as Cdc2 and Cdk2 modulates activity and interactions during mitosis. PRC1 depletion inhibits cellular cleavage without affecting nuclear division, underscoring specific importance in cytokinesis. Additionally, PRC1′s yeast homolog, Ase1, is essential for spindle assembly and elongation, highlighting evolutionary conservation across species.
