p-p38 MAPK Antibody (D-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects Tyr 182 phosphorylated p38 alpha MAPK14, p38 beta MAPK11, and p38 gamma MAPK12 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). p-p38 MAPK (D-8) antibody is available in both conjugated and non-conjugated forms, providing flexibility for various experimental needs. p38 MAPK proteins play a crucial role in cellular responses to stress and inflammatory signals, acting as key regulators in pathways that control cell differentiation, apoptosis, and cytokine production. p38 MAPK proteins are primarily located in the cytoplasm but can translocate to the nucleus in response to specific stimuli, which is vital for mediating cellular responses. This translocation allows p38 MAPK proteins to influence gene expression and cellular behavior in response to environmental changes, making these proteins essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and responding to stressors. p38 MAPK proteins undergo phosphorylation at both threonine and tyrosine residues, a modification critical for activation and subsequent signaling functions. p-p38 MAPK (D-8) antibody enables researchers to effectively study the activation state of these important kinases and their role in various biological processes, enhancing our understanding of their contributions to health and disease.

Should I use the secondary mouse antibody which detects IgM ?

Asked by: Susan_SJ
Thank you for your question. Yes, this p-p38 antibody is a mouse IgM and we would recommend using an anti-mouse IgM secondary antibody for detection. Alternatively, you could use our mouse IgG kappa binding protein (m-IgGκ BP), for example, sc-516102. This secondary binds specifically to the kappa light chain of mouse IgG and mouse IgM. A link to the product information on our website is below as a reference. https://www.scbt.com/scbt/product/m-igg-kappa-bp-hrp

I have detected p-p38 with this Ab (#7973), but there are two bands at 50 kDa & 25 kDa, not 38~40 kDa. Which band is p-p38? (you can see my band: https://www.researchgate.net/post/Is_there_any_one_who_detected_p-p38_protein_in_western_blot)

Can I use this mouse monoclonal antibody for IF or IHC staining of mouse tissue?

Asked by: Anna99
Yes. Staining on mouse tissue can be done by using a directly conjugated antibody. p-p38 Antibody (D-8): sc-7973 is available conjugated to fluoroscein (sc-7973 FITC), 200 µg/ml, and TRITC (sc-7973 TRITC, 200 µg/ml) for IF, IHC(P) and FCM.
