p-Nitrophenyl-β-D-glucuronide, also known as 4-Nitrophenyl beta-D-glucopyranosiduronic acid (4-NPB-D-GlcA), is a versatile organic compound that is derived from 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) and glucopyranosiduronic acid. 4-NP has been widely used in various applications such as a dye, preservative, and reagent in organic synthesis. p-Nitrophenyl-β-D-glucuronide has been used as a substrate for the enzyme β-glucosidase in the hydrolysis of glycosidic bonds in both biochemistry and biotechnology.
