p-Bcl-2 Antibody (C-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects Ser 87 phosphorylated Bcl-2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). p-Bcl-2 (C-2) antibody is offered in a non-conjugated form, allowing for versatile experimental design. Bcl-2 plays a critical role in regulating apoptosis, a vital process that ensures proper cellular turnover and tissue homeostasis. Bcl-2 is primarily located in the outer mitochondrial membrane, where anti-Bcl-2 antibody (C-2) can detect its function in inhibiting pro-apoptotic factor release and preventing cell death. This localization allows Bcl-2 to effectively interact with other Bcl-2 family members, influencing the balance between survival and apoptosis. Through maintaining mitochondrial integrity, Bcl-2 helps regulate the cytochrome c/Apaf-1 pathway, essential for caspase activation and apoptosis execution. Dysregulation of Bcl-2, often due to mutations or aberrant expression, can lead to various cancers by allowing cells to evade programmed cell death, highlighting Bcl-2′s importance in both normal physiology and disease states.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from
