p-Bad Antibody (C-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Ser 112 phosphorylated Bad in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). p-Bad (C-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Bad protein, a pro-apoptotic member of the Bcl-2 family, plays a crucial role in regulating apoptosis, and phosphorylation at serine residues 112, 136, and 155 is essential for cell survival signaling. Specifically, phosphorylation at serine 136 is a prerequisite for subsequent phosphorylation at serine 155, which enhances the binding of 14-3-3 proteins. This interaction prevents Bad from associating with prosurvival Bcl-2 proteins, thereby inhibiting pro-apoptotic activity and promoting cell survival in response to growth factors. Understanding Bad phosphorylation dynamics is important for elucidating mechanisms of cell survival and apoptosis, which have significant implications in cancer research and therapeutic strategies.
