    SEE ALSO...

OSTM1 Antibody (4H1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects OSTM1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-OSTM1 antibody (4H1) is available as a non-conjugated antibody. OSTM1, also known as osteopetrosis associated transmembrane protein 1, gl (gray-lethal), or HSPC019, is a 338 amino acid single-pass type I membrane protein predominantly expressed in osteoclasts and melanocytes, as well as in the brain, kidney, and spleen. OSTM1 plays a crucial role in the regulation of osteoclast function, which is essential for bone remodeling and homeostasis. Disruptions in OSTM1 function can lead to bone autosomal recessive osteopetrosis (ARO), a severe hereditary bone disease characterized by abnormally dense bone due to defective resorption of immature bone. ARO is linked to mutations in the OSTM1 gene and manifests in two forms: a severe autosomal recessive form that occurs in utero, infancy, or childhood, and a benign autosomal dominant form that appears in adolescence or adulthood. Additionally, defects in the OSTM1 gene are responsible for the spontaneous gl mutant, which causes a coat color defect in mice. OSTM1 (4H1) antibody′s ability to effectively detect this important protein makes OSTM1 (4H1) antibody a valuable tool for research into bone diseases and related conditions.
