Nucleobindin 2 Antibody (D-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects nucleobindin 2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-nucleobindin 2 antibody (D-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Nucleobindin 2, also known as NUCB2 or NEFA, is a 420 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in calcium binding and intracellular signaling. NUCB2 is predominantly expressed in the spleen, testis, and stomach, and is localized to the Golgi apparatus, the cisternae of the endoplasmic reticulum, and the nuclear envelope of neurons in the brain. NUCB2′s structure includes leucine-zipper and EF-hand motifs, which are essential for function; the leucine zipper facilitates DNA binding, while the EF-hand domains enable calcium ion binding, highlighting NUCB2′s importance in cellular signaling pathways. Additionally, NUCB2 is expressed in the hypothalamic nuclei of rats, suggesting a significant role in appetite regulation, as conversion to nesfatin-1 in the brain has been shown to decrease food intake, positioning NUCB2 as a key player in the mechanisms of satiety and energy homeostasis.
