    SEE ALSO...

NT5C2 Antibody (FF-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects NT5C2 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-NT5C2 antibody (FF-12) is available as the non-conjugated form. NT5C2, also known as 5′-nucleotidase, cytosolic II, NT5B, NT5CP, or PNT5, is a crucial enzyme composed of 561 amino acids that plays a vital role in nucleotide metabolism by catalyzing the hydrolysis of nucleotides into nucleosides and phosphates. This enzymatic activity is essential for maintaining the balance of purine and pyrimidine nucleotides within cells, which is critical for various cellular processes, including DNA and RNA synthesis, energy metabolism, and signal transduction. NT5C2 is allosterically activated by ATP and other compounds, allowing for fine-tuned regulation of inosine monophosphate (IMP) and guanosine monophosphate (GMP) levels in response to cellular needs. Structurally, NT5C2 shares similarities with enzymes from the haloacid dehalogenase superfamily, which are known for their hydrolase activity. NT5C2 localizes in the cytoplasmic matrix, ensuring accessibility to substrates and supporting cellular metabolism. Mutations in NT5C2 can lead to elevated uric acid levels, potentially resulting in conditions such as gout and hyperuricemia, highlighting NT5C2′s significance in human health.

Can sc-82000: NT5C2 (FF-12) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-82000: NT5C2 (FF-12) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
