SEE ALSO...

NRF-1 Antibody (147.1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects NRF-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NRF-1 (147.1) antibody is available as the non-conjugated form. Nuclear respiratory factor-1 (NRF-1) serves as a crucial transcriptional activator, playing a significant role in the regulation of nuclear genes essential for mitochondrial respiratory function and overall cellular metabolism. NRF-1 is primarily located in the nucleus, where NRF-1 orchestrates the expression of genes involved in the respiratory chain, thereby influencing energy production within cells. Proper functioning of NRF-1 is vital, particularly during early embryogenesis, as NRF-1 is necessary for maintaining mitochondrial DNA integrity and respiratory chain activity. Studies have shown that while wild-type and NRF-1+/- blastocysts can develop normally in vitro, NRF-1-/- blastocysts fail to do so, highlighting NRF-1′s essential role in early developmental processes. NRF-1 is responsive to physiological signals, enabling cells to adapt their energy-generating capacity according to metabolic demands, making NRF-1 a key player in cellular energy homeostasis. NRF-1 is recognized as a major transcription factor that binds to specific promoters in tissues such as the brain and testis, underscoring NRF-1′s importance in various biological contexts.

Can sc-101102: NRF-1 (147.1) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Cweed
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-101102: NRF-1 (147.1) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
