SEE ALSO...

NPR-A Antibody (G-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects NPR-A of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-NPR-A antibody (G-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NPR-A, also known as guanylate cyclase A (GC-A), plays a crucial role in cardiovascular and renal homeostasis by mediating the effects of atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) and brain natriuretic peptide (BNP). These natriuretic peptides are secreted from the heart and act on NPR-A to stimulate the production of 3′, 5′-cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), which is essential for promoting vasodilation, natriuresis, and inhibiting renin release. Proper functioning of NPR-A is vital for maintaining blood pressure and fluid balance, making NPR-A a significant target for therapeutic interventions in conditions such as hypertension and heart failure. Additionally, NPR-A interacts with NPR-B and NPR-C, which further modulate physiological responses to natriuretic peptides, highlighting the complexity and importance of this signaling pathway in cardiovascular health.

Can NPR-A (G-2): sc-137041 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. Yes, NPR-A (G-2): sc-137041 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not work in WesternThis antibody did not work in a Western on full-length recombinant protein. In contrast, sc-100380 and sc-377494 worked on that protein in the same Western. Secondary antibody was HRP-goat anti-mouse IgG (H+L) polyclonal.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from could not detectI received this as a sample to test, but could not detect in mouse brown adipose tissue lysates (20 ug/lane). Above 50 kD was blank on the blot. Run under reducing and denaturing conditions. Probed at 1:100 dilution overnight at 4C. Imaged with Li-Cor Odyssey system, which typically has difficulty picking up low signal. Perhaps HRP secondary method could work.
