NPAS2 Antibody (FT-68) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects the NPAS2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NPAS2 (FT-68) antibody is available as a non-conjugated anti-NPAS2 antibody. Neuronal PAS domain protein 2 (NPAS2), also known as PAS 4 or MOP4, is a crucial transcription factor belonging to the basic helix-loop-helix-PER-ARNT-SIM (bHLH-PAS) family, which is characterized by a bHLH DNA binding domain and a PAS domain. NPAS2 is primarily expressed in neurons during the early stages of postnatal development, specifically mapping to chromosome 2p11.2-2q13. NPAS2 expression patterns align temporally with the development of learning and memory, and spatially associate with the frontal association and limbic forebrain pathways. NPAS2 plays a significant regulatory role in the development and maintenance of long-term memory and is essential for processing complex sensory information. Additionally, NPAS2 forms a transcriptionally active heterodimer with MOP3, which binds to specific DNA elements containing the CACGTGA sequence, thereby driving transcription from linked luciferase reporter genes. This interaction highlights NPAS2′s importance in gene regulation and potential implications in cognitive functions and neurodevelopmental processes.
