NOP17 Antibody (F-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b light chain antibody that detects NOP17 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NOP17, also known as PIH1D1, is a phylogenetically conserved protein that plays a crucial role in the processing of pre-ribosomal RNA (pre-rRNA) by associating with a specific class of small nucleolar RNAs (snoRNAs) during ribosomal biogenesis. These snoRNAs are integral components of ribonucleoprotein particles that are localized to the nucleolus, where they facilitate the modification and maturation of rRNA. NOP17 consists of 290 amino acids and is characterized as an unstable protein that gains stability through interaction with heat shock proteins HSP 90α and HSP 90β. Furthermore, NOP17 interacts with the core box C/D snoRNP protein Nop58, highlighting an essential function in mediating the nucleolar retention and proper assembly of box C/D snoRNP complexes. Notably, mutations in NOP17 can result in a temperature-sensitive phenotype, which is associated with the delocalization of critical NOP proteins necessary for the assembly of snoRNPs. NOP17 (F-7) antibody is an invaluable tool for researchers studying ribosomal biogenesis and the intricate processes involved in RNA processing.
