SEE ALSO...

Noggin Antibody (2C10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Noggin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Noggin antibody (2C10) is available as the non-conjugated format. Noggin protein plays a crucial role in embryonic development by regulating the activity of bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs), which are essential for the formation of bones and cartilage. Specifically, Noggin binds to and inhibits BMPs, preventing them from triggering their signaling pathways, which is vital for proper skeletal development and neural tube patterning. The ability of Noggin to diffuse through extracellular matrices allows Noggin to create morphogenetic gradients necessary for spatial regulation of BMP activity during development. In mice embryos homozygous null for Noggin, severe developmental defects occur, including stubby limbs without joints and various malformations, highlighting Noggin′s importance in vertebrate skeletogenesis.
