NOC-18 is a diazeniumdiolate (NONOate) small molecule NO donor designed to release NO at a slower rate than other available diazeniumdiolates, boasting a half-life for NO release of 20 hr. This slow release of NO allows use of NOC-18 in experiments investigating the effects of prolonged, constant NO delivery to cells and tissues. NOC-18 was demonstrated to prevent low density lipoprotein peroxidation by Cu2+ modulated by the NO released, and the particularly slow rate of NO release generated by NOC-18 was shown to protect against LDL peroxidation much more effectively than the quick-releasing NOC-9 (sc-202250, half-life of 2.7 min) by providing a continuous flux of NO to the system.

How is this product stored long term?

This chemical, NOC-18 (CAS 146724-94-9), can be stored long term if NOC-18 is sealed under nitrogen at -80°C. It should be stable for at least one year. The crystals are sensitive to moisture and become discolored on exposure to air.
