QUICK LINKS

NNC 26-9100 is an agonist of the somatostatin subtype-4 (sst4) receptor, which inhibits forskolin-induced cAMP accumulation. It is known that somatostatin is a cyclic tetradecapeptide that is a potent inhibitor of growth hormone (GH). NNC 26-9100 is composed of four main fragments which include a heteroaromatic moiety comprised of pyridine, an aromatic group, basic imidazole group, and a thiourea scaffold. Research suggest that NNC 26-9100 is essential in the discovery of other thiourea compounds that function as agonists towards the sst4 receptor.
