NMT1 Antibody (E-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects NMT1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NMT1 (E-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NMT1 plays a critical role in the process of N-terminal myristoylation, a cotranslational lipid modification essential for proper targeting and function of numerous signaling proteins. This modification influences protein localization, stability, and interactions, thereby impacting various cellular processes such as signal transduction and membrane trafficking. NMT1, along with NMT2, is primarily found in the cytoplasm and is involved in adding a myristoyl group to N-terminal glycine residue of eukaryotic, fungal, and viral proteins. NMT1 is predominantly expressed in tissues such as heart, gut, kidney, liver, and placenta, highlighting significance in both normal physiology and potential pathophysiological conditions.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-393702 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
