Nkx-3.1 Antibody (A-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Nkx-3.1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Nkx-3.1 antibody (A-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Nkx-3.1, a member of the homeobox gene family, plays a crucial role in prostate development and is primarily expressed in the prostate gland, where Nkx-3.1 regulates cellular responses to sonic hedgehog (Shh) signaling. This regulation is vital for maintaining the balance between cell proliferation and differentiation within the prostatic epithelium, which is essential for normal prostate function and development. Nkx-3.1 is expressed at lower levels in other tissues, such as the heart and gut, contributing to the regulation of glandular epithelium proliferation and duct formation in both the prostate and minor salivary glands. Nkx-3.1 preferentially binds to the TAAGTA sequence, a unique characteristic not observed in other NK class homeoproteins. The human Nkx-3.1 gene is located on chromosome 8q21, a region often associated with loss of heterozygosity in various cancers, making Nkx-3.1 a potential marker for distinguishing between benign and malignant prostate epithelium.

can i use Nkx-3.1 Antibody (A-3) Ab for human NKX3.1 detection in ChIP-seq exp? Thanks

Asked by: rabeya
Thank you for your question. We have not validated Nkx-3.1 (A-3) for Chip assay but we recommend using sc-393190 X since it is 10X more concentrated. https://www.scbt.com/resources/protocols/chromatin-immunoprecipitation-assays

I need to use an antibody to detect the protein in samples of monkey origin. Do you know if sc-393190: Nkx-3.1 (A-3) mouse monoclonal antibody will work?

Asked by: cjMara
Please contact our Technical Service Department and we would be happy to perform sequence analysis and review our data to answer any questions you may have about additional species reactivity.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nkx3.1 prostate tissue IFI tried this Ab at 1:50, 1:250 and 1:500 on FFPE human prostate tissue. It worked at each dilution staining the epithelial cells. I gave 4 out of 5 because its a little hazy. I used sodium citrate antigen retrieval in a pressure cooker at 100C for 5 minutes and BSA/PBS for Ab dilution buffer blocking with NHS.
