Nicotinuric acid, is used in analytical chemistry to develop and calibrate chromatographic and spectroscopic methods due to its unique structural properties. It also finds application in enzymatic studies to investigate enzyme-substrate interactions, particularly involving dehydrogenases. it is thought to bind to cellular proteins, thereby altering the function of enzymes and other proteins that are key to metabolic activities.
