NFX1 Antibody (Y-14) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects NFX1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-NFX1 antibody (Y-14) is available as the non-conjugated form. NFX1, or nuclear transcription factor X-box binding 1, is a crucial nucleic acid binding protein that plays a significant role in the regulation of gene expression, particularly in the immune response. NFX1 is primarily located in the nucleus, where NFX1 contains an R3H domain, a RING-type zinc finger, and nine NFX1-type zinc fingers, which are essential for function as a transcriptional repressor. By binding to the conserved X1 region within the X-box motif found in the promoter region of major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class II genes, NFX1 effectively represses their expression, thereby influencing the duration of inflammatory responses. This regulatory mechanism is vital for maintaining immune homeostasis and preventing excessive inflammation, making NFX1 a potential therapeutic target in diseases characterized by inflammation and autoimmunity. Additionally, the presence of a RING-type finger domain suggests that NFX1 may also act as an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase, further highlighting NFX1′s multifaceted role in cellular processes. Notably, two isoforms of NFX1, NFX1-91 and NFX1-123, arise from alternative splicing, differing in their C-terminal regions and potentially contributing to diverse functional outcomes in various biological contexts.
