NF-YB Antibody (G-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects NF-YB protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-NF-YB antibody (G-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NF-YB plays a crucial role in gene regulation as a component of CCAAT-binding factor NF-Y, which is a heteromeric transcription factor essential for binding to CCAAT sequences found in promoter regions of many eukaryotic genes. NF-YB forms a complex with NF-YA and NF-YC, and all three subunits are necessary for effective DNA binding. Conserved segments within each NF-Y subunit, which are homologous to histone-fold motif of eukaryotic histones, facilitate formation of NF-Y-DNA complex. This structural similarity allows NF-YB and NF-YC to interact through a protein-protein, histone-fold "handshake" motif, similar to interactions between histone proteins H2B and H2A, highlighting NF-YB′s significance in transcriptional regulation and potential implications in various biological processes and diseases.
