Netilmicin Sulfate is an active aminoglycoside antibiotic against most Gram-negative and some Gram-positive bacteria, including certain strains resistant to gentamicin. Netilmicin is comparable to Gentamycin Sulfate (sc-203334), Amikacin (sc-278692) and Tobramycin (sc-204917) in bacteriological efficacy terms. The compound can be detected with the use of liquid chromatography. With an IC50 = 0.963 mM Netilmicin Sulfate inhibited rat erythrocyte PGD (6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase) in vitro.
