QUICK LINKS

Neoabietic acid is an abietane-type of diterpene resin acid. It is the oleoresin and rosin of Pinus palustris that Neoabietic acid is isolated from. Additionally, Neoabietic Acid is a derivative of Gum Rosin. Neoabietic acid reduces the consumption rate, feeding efficiency, and growth rate of the larch sawfly when applied to their natural food. Neoabietic acid is highly susceptible to mineral acid. In vitro, Neoabietic acid displays antibacterial activity.
