NEIL3 Antibody (A-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgA kappa light chain antibody that detects NEIL3 protein of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-NEIL3 antibody (A-1) is available as the non-conjugated form. NEIL3, part of the NEIL family which includes NEIL1 and NEIL2, plays a crucial role in the repair of oxidatively damaged DNA, a process vital for maintaining genomic stability and preventing mutations that could lead to diseases such as cancer. Unlike NEIL1 and NEIL2, NEIL3 lacks the proline residue at the N-terminus that serves as the active site, leading to ongoing debates regarding glycosylase activity. This unique structural feature may influence functional role in DNA repair pathways. NEIL3 is predominantly localized in the nucleus and is expressed specifically in thymus and testis tissues, highlighting potential importance in cellular processes such as differentiation and immune response. The deduced 605 amino acid structure of NEIL3 includes one FPG-type zinc finger and one RanBP2-type zinc finger, which are essential for interaction with DNA and other proteins involved in repair mechanisms.
